So here it is finally.

I really love how this turned out.

I made a kinda card type frame to display it using tan corner tabs on some watercolor paper that I gave a scalloped edge to. The jute twine really added to the beach feel I think.

For the drawing I used a 6B sketch stick on some 100# Strathmore Bristol Paper, which is great for drawing with pencil, charcoal and pastel. It's also acid free.

Man! I almost forgot that I even had this blog.)

I haven't made an any ATC's for quite some time now and I've been thinking about how I'd like to start doing more of them. Except this time I would like to do more with my old, almost long lost talent of drawing. I used to draw so much in my younger days and was actually quite good at it. I figured that the size of the ATC's are perfect for me right now to start up my drawing again.

Anyway, will get back here hopefully much sooner to show my latest work of art!;)

I think that I might like to do a drawing of this photo I took during our vacation while staying on Moolack Beach in Oregon last year. I really can't wait to go back there again! We has such good memories of that place and I'm so glad that I have these pictures remind me of how much fun we had.

... here are some ATC's from other people from all over the world. These are from July thru September. The ones you see that have gold corner tabs are not part of the ATC's. I used the tabs to hold the ATC's in place in my scrapbook.

One of these days I will have to come back to this post and write who did each one of these ATC's and where they were from. But for now I will leave it as is.

I still haven't posted ATC's that I've gotten from others yet but plan to take pictures of them real soon. Maybe I'll try to do that tomorrow but no guaranttees.
I love getting ATC's from people around the world. It's just so nifty.:)
If there is anybody who happens to read this blog and who likes my stuff and who also likes to do ATC's, maybe we could do a swap. Leave me an email about it and we can try to set things up for a ATC swap.

More September ATC's

This here I did for the "Send Our Love to Earth" swap.

I did it on handmade paper, then cut out a drawing of a maple leaf and glittered it up a bit. Next I glued a piece of birch bark down and a white rock. The little shell was from the Oregon Coast.

This cute little set was for partner 1 in a "Vintage ATC" swap.
These were for partner 2 in the "Vintage ATC" swap. I really like these ones alot.
I added a little snail shell to the sail of the ship.
This is one I made and kept for myself. Part of the flower are raised with some glue dots. Done on handmade paper too.

So there ya have it so far. Will be more.

September ATC's... So Far

Here's the September ATC's i've made so far.

These were all swapped on swap-bot for various swaps.

The top one in this photo was done on handmade paper with a cutout from a Late July cookie box and little shells glued to each corner. The bottom one in the photo was just on some card stock with some picures cut out of Adventure National Geographic. The background is a picure of a map.

Here is what the quote says in case some of you can't read it:

There is a magical tie to the land of your home,

Which the heart cannot break,

Though the footsteps may roam.

Again I used handmade paper as a background for this one. More cutouts of pictures out of Adventure National Geographic, and more sand from the Oregon coast. Somehow, with glitter and glue and tearing the edge of the paper I made the water splashing up on the shore look amazingly realistic.
The butterfly ones were'nt very difficult to make using mulberry paper and stickers of butterflies.

These I did a bit more with using deckle edged scissors on some pretty paper that I got off from a pretty package I got in the mail, a little chalk ink on the edges and little glitter and drawn on scrolls and that's it.

Now this one is more special because it got me back into drawing again. I used to draw so much when I was younger but rarely get around to doing much of that anymore. I drew the chickadee from a photo I took at the begining of this month out on my front porch.

My August ATC's

Here are most of my August ATC's. I think I may have forgotten to take a picture of one that I had sent to a friend.

These were sent out in swaps on swap-bot. As you can see everything is quite purple. The name of the swap was called The Color Purple ATC swap.:) The crocheted flower and the quilled dragon fly was all handmade by me.

The one below was done for Lesley at The Bower. She inspires me alot as did our trip to the Oregon Coast along with the book that was read for the book club over at the Bower. I really love this ATC too. I used rock, sand, a fossilized shell all from the Oregon Coast(except the little shells on the bottom) plus a teeny tiny bottle(maybe a sample perfume bottle) that I've had since I was a somewhere between 10 and 13 years of age. I had found it in an old car of my uncles who died in a car accident( not the car I found the bottle in)when I was 9 years old that was sitting at my folks place parked in the trees. He was only 21 when he died and was more like a big brother to me. I liked to go sit in there from time to time when I thought of him. It was comforting.

I even made a little scroll with a wee little tie around it and stuffed it in the bottle. I cut out a piece of cork form a wine bottle cork to make a stopper for the bottle. I always loved the idea of a message in a bottle. Of course I use a copy of a vintage illustration and a cut from a music sheet set in the background.

The next three were also giving in a swap to three different gals. It was the August Senders Choice ATC swap.

The last one you see was made from all things found in nature that I had got from a camping trip at my grandparent property by the river in WA. The Lichen, moss, twig and rock are all glued to a piece of cotton wood bark. Looks like birch bark. Actually the lichen was naturally adhered to the bark and twig but I gave it a little more support with some glue.Of course, I added more vintagey things to it along with a bit of glitter for good measure.:) Another favorite ATC of mine.

This weekend I'll try to post some to the ones I've already done this month.

I was thinkin' that if i'm gonna have a blog displaying ATC's that maybe I had better give more information about these little works of art in more detail. When I say 'works of art', I'm not necessarily speaking of mine. Yet, I'm also not saying that I don't think that mine are good. Sooo... I googled under "ATC's" and oh my, is there alot on ATC's. So, instead of writing about it here I thought that I'd put a few links on my side bar for anyone interested. Why do all that work when it has already been done?:)

My very first ATC's

Near the end of July I started making ATC's for the first time. I had never heard of them before I signed up on Swap-Bot in June. I love making them though because are they just the right size to experiment with different mediums and get them done quick, usually. I may be slightly addicted to making them I think. :)

This was my very first one. It's not my favorite

because it's not really representative of me to be

truthful. But it's nice enough. I gave this one away

as an extra in a swap unrelated to trading ATC's.

Then not long after the first came this one, which is still one of my favorites. The background fabric is with the white flowers is actually some dotted-swiss fabric glued to cardboard.

This is #3 and I quite like it too.

These last two I actually swapped with two different people at swap-bot. The swap was called First-Timers ATC's. I'm happy to say that my ATC's were well received.:)
